EARLY OXFORD HELP

A simple start, at home or in class.

Choose a topic or search for an answer.

How do I sign in?

MKS teachers use Teacher sign in with the name and password supplied by their school. Other adults use their account email and password. Paid subscriptions are not open. The free sample needs no account.

How do we start a lesson?

After signing in, open Home. In What’s in My Week, choose your curriculum, grade, semester and week. Open My Week and tap Phonics or Literacy on the wheel. Tap a word card to hear it. Full resources require learning access.

Which grade should I choose?

Choose by English experience and the help needed. PK starts with pictures and listening; K1 explores letters and sounds; K2 builds words and short sentences; K3 develops reading and explanations. Try the sample with an adult. These levels are not a placement test.

Why is there no sound?

Tap a word or listening button. Check the device volume, browser mute setting and selected speaker. A missing recording shows a message; an adult can model the word. In games, the Music control adjusts background music separately.

What if a page keeps loading?

Check your connection. The loading panel offers Reload page or Back to home if opening takes too long. Reloading can restart the current activity.

How do the game modes work?

Class mode supports children taking turns. Competition uses the team options offered by that game. Single player has a computer opponent with Easy, Medium and Hard settings. The information button explains each game.

How do touch and drag controls work?

Touch and move a tile towards its destination, then release. Where offered, tap the tile and then the destination instead. A larger screen gives team games more room.

Can I correct a score?

Games with points offer +1 and −1 controls for adult corrections. Scores cannot go below zero. Snakes and Ladders uses board positions. Name It uses lives: a successful challenge costs the challenger one life; a failed challenge costs the answering team one life.

Where is progress saved?

Your selected week and lesson progress stay in this browser. My Rewards keeps a separate star chart for each adult account on this device. The chart does not sync to other devices. Clearing browser data can remove these records. Existing learner records remain available under Your data in Account.

How do I print a worksheet?

Open Printables and choose grade, week, subject and Easy or Hard. Easy gives more support; Hard asks for more independent work. Use Adult answers for separate guidance and Low ink for less colour. Check the print preview before printing.

How should I use assessments?

Open Printables, choose Assessments, then select the curriculum, grade and Week 10, 20, 30 or 40 checkpoint. The pack shows which teaching weeks it covers. Follow the teacher guide and record any help given. These are teaching observations, not standardised tests. Keep completed sheets private.

What does “in preparation” mean?

That resource is not available yet. A cover, catalogue entry or planning objective does not mean the full resource is ready. The free phonics sample is available now.

What if the screen does not fit?

Try landscape on a small device or the fullscreen control where supported. You can keep browser zoom at a comfortable size. If a control is covered, contact us with the page, device and browser.

How do I report a problem?

Use Contact and tell us the page or game, grade, week, what you tried and what happened. Do not include children’s names, photos, passwords or payment details.
