Early-access notice · Updated 28 October 2026
This notice describes the information used by the current early-access website, adult accounts and learning features. Paid subscriptions are not open. The retention schedule, legal bases for each use of data, and provider transfer details are still under review; this notice is not a completed launch privacy policy.
Who we are
Early Oxford is an independent English-learning platform for early-years learners, teachers and schools. We are not affiliated with the University of Oxford or Oxford University Press.
Our legal operator and correspondence address are listed in our seller details. Contact us about privacy at hello@earlyoxford.com.
Information you and your school provide
- Enquiries: the fields on the form you use, such as name, email, country, role, school, phone number, class or age group, language and your message. Not every form asks for every field. We record your permission to be contacted about that request.
- Adult accounts: email, display name, sign-in information, account role, school association and selected learning preferences. A school may provide staff details to arrange classroom access.
- Learner profiles: the name or nickname an adult enters, avatar choices, completed activities and learning rewards. A device profile is saved in that browser. When an adult signs in and selects a cloud learner, supported progress and profile changes are sent to the account service.
- Technical and referral information: form source page, browser user-agent, referring website origin and permitted campaign labels. Hosting and account services also receive technical connection information when they handle requests.
Required form fields are marked on the form. Without the required contact or sign-in information, the corresponding request or account feature cannot be completed. Do not put passwords, payment-card details, health information or confidential pupil records into public forms.
How information is used
We use enquiry details to respond to your request, account information to provide and control access, and learner choices and activity records to show progress and rewards. Technical information helps operate the service and investigate errors or abuse. Referral and campaign information records where an enquiry came from.
The public form permission is permission to contact you about your enquiry; it is not a separate newsletter subscription. You can withdraw that contact permission by emailing hello@earlyoxford.com.
Cookies and browser storage
The classroom star chart in My Rewards stores the names or nicknames, chosen cartoon avatars and star totals in this browser, separately for each adult account. It does not upload this chart or pupil photographs. Recovering a damaged chart can retain a local recovery copy. Use Clear chart in My Rewards to remove the current chart and its recovery copies from this browser. Removing one pupil changes the current chart only. These device records remain until removed or the browser's site data is cleared; they are not automatically synchronised to another device.
The website uses browser storage as well as the storage used by its account service. Local storage remembers sign-in state, selected grade and week, audio preferences, learner profiles and some lesson progress. Some pending learner updates can remain on the device until they can be sent to the account service.
If you allow optional referral measurement below, session storage records limited campaign labels, the landing-page section and referring website origin during a browser session. Those details can accompany a public form submission. You can decline or withdraw this permission without losing access to learning or contact forms. Your choice stays in local storage until changed or cleared. Withdrawing removes optional referral data from the current browser session; it does not automatically remove details already sent with an earlier enquiry.
Optional referral information
With your permission, we remember limited campaign labels, the page section you are visiting and the referring website origin for this browser session. We attach these details if you send a public enquiry, to understand how people find Early Oxford. We do not save full referring addresses or search terms.
This is off unless you choose Allow. Declining does not affect lessons, accounts or forms. Your choice is remembered on this browser until you change it or clear site data. You can turn it off here at any time; this clears the optional referral details on this tab and stops future collection and submission. It does not erase enquiries already sent.
Optional referral information is off. No choice is required to use the site.
Hosting traffic statistics
Lovable, our website host, also measures visits, page views, referring websites, device types and countries. These statistics help us understand overall use of the website. Lovable states that this measurement uses no cookies or browser storage, does not connect visits to your signed-in account, and discards each visit's random identifier when that visit ends. This is separate from the optional enquiry referral information above. Read Lovable's explanation of visitor measurement.
You can remove this website's stored data in your browser's site-data settings. Local storage does not have a fixed automatic expiry in the current application. Clearing it can sign you out and erase device-only progress or pending updates; it does not delete server-held account or enquiry records. Closing a tab normally clears its session storage, although browser session restoration can preserve it. Browser settings are not a substitute for the website's required privacy controls.
Service providers and storage locations
The website, account authentication, cloud learner records and stored files run on Lovable Cloud, whose backend uses Supabase technology. Messages sent to our support address are handled through Microsoft email services. These services process the information needed to supply their part of the website. We do not sell personal information.
Our learning account database is hosted in Zurich, Switzerland. This is the database location; it does not establish where every hosting, email or support operation is processed. The applicable provider agreements, international transfer arrangements and complete list of underlying providers are still being verified. Contact us before sharing information if its location or access requirements are important to you. These outstanding checks do not remove our responsibility for your information.
Children and school use
Public forms and account registration are intended for adults. Children should use learning activities with adult supervision. Use a nickname rather than a child's full name where possible and provide only information needed for the activity.
Parents and schools should tell children, in an age-appropriate way, what is being saved. School-managed records may also be covered by the school's privacy notice. A school providing data does not remove Early Oxford's own data-protection responsibilities. Contact both the school and us if you are unsure who manages a record.
Keeping and removing records
Account and enquiry records are stored separately from browser data. A verified retention schedule for those records, service logs and backups is still being completed; we cannot currently state a fixed deletion period for them. Contact us to request removal or ask how a specific record is handled.
Lovable takes daily database backups and states that it keeps roughly 14 days of them. These cover database records, not files in storage. Separately downloaded recovery copies and stored files need their own removal process. Their retention schedule is still being completed. Read Lovable's backup details.
The account download contains the account information loaded by that page, including learner profiles, available progress and membership status. It is not a complete export of every support message, log or other record. Removing a learner in the account area does not by itself delete the adult account, browser backups or all other records.
Your requests and rights
Contact hello@earlyoxford.com or use the contact page to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information. Which rights apply depends on the circumstances and legal basis. We may need information to verify your identity; do not email a password or identity document unless a suitable verification process has been agreed.
You may also object to the use of your personal information where that right applies, including direct marketing. Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can contact us and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. You may also have the right to contact the data-protection authority where you live.
